About Linda

Linda Louie is a Vancouver based intuitive contemporary artist. She was born in the late 50's in Seoul, Korea and has been residing in Canada for over 50 years. Her work is inspired by the internal dialogue within and the release of emotion onto a canvas. Her process is fluid, meditative, calming and balances her perspectives in life. Grateful to be able to express her feelings visually, she feels a lot of joy sharing her work with viewers.

Linda's pieces often combine dualities: realism and abstract, bold and delicate, old and new, East and West. The opposites bring balance to her artwork. Her art portrays the rebirth from personal struggle and the pursuit of a restful and peaceful ethereal resolution. Although she started painting full time in 2012 after retiring from her fashion career, her lifelong pursuit for creativity began as a young child.

Linda's education includes traditional realism studies in oil and water colour, Fashion Technique and Design from Sheridan College and Fine Art studies in Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
